You want to start your own online business but don't know how to go about it? You have arrived at the right place. Here you will find how to run your own wealth building business. There are many directions one can take in this endeavor but they all have a great many things in common. I will discuss these in detail and show you everything you need to do to become an online success. Let's get started.

Step 1 - Getting Organized

Any business requires organization but an online business demands it. Failure to get organized early and stay organized will soon lead to computer chaos. Don't get caught in this trap.

All computers sooner or later go haywire! Remember to backup your work at least daily. An automatic backup program is useful for this. Mant are free. Just search the web and find one you like.

Don't hurry! This is not a race and you don't get any bonus for finishing first. Take your time and work at your own pace. Study everything and be sure you understand it thoroughly before taking on the next task.

You will need a personal e-mail account and at least two business e-mail accounts. One for your contacts and leads and another for all your different advertising sites. The name you choose for these should allude to the function they serve such as support@yourdomain.com or johnsmith@yourdomain.com. The name is entirely up to you. It's your business.

Step 2 - Getting Your Web Site

When you begin your advertising campaign you will need somewhere to host your ads. If you plan to create your own ad campaign or build a website you will need your own domain name and host provider. For web hosting I recommend Host Gator as they provide high quality service at a very affordable price. You can find it here.

Deciding on a domain name reqires a bit of thought. It should be related to the type of business you intend to build. Don't rush on this one. Select several names and check to see if the domain names are available. Narrow down your choices until you find the one that's right for you and your business. The .com ending is the preferred choice. You can check for available domain names at GoDaddy.com. Complete this step and then continue to step 3.

Step 3 - Building Your Web Site

Design your web site for ease of navigation. If people can't find their way around your site they will leave. Does it load quickly? Surfers are not patient people. They won't wait forever for your pages to load. Limit those fancy graphics and compress the ones you do need. Does it have interesting content. Is it a good niche market. These are some of the questions you need to ask yourself when designing your site. Think it through carefully.

If you need any help creating web pages I recommend W3 Schools. Here you will find information on creating HTML XHTML CSS and others. What makes this site so useful is that you can see the code in action and modify it. It's a hands on approach to learning. If you're already familiar with HTML this is a great site to help improve your skills and expand your knowledge.

When you create web pages be sure to validate them. This will identify any errors in your code so you can correct them. This makes search engines like Google able to crawl them more easily and without getting lost due to code errors.

If your using notepad you may find advanced text editors more useful for creating web pages. A couple of good editors are Notepad++ and PSPad. They're worth a try and they're free.

Step 4 - Finding Products

Finding quality products for your business can be challenging. This is where affiliate marketing comes in. There are literally hundreds of companies willing to pay commissions on sales you get for them. This can add many extra dollars to your bottom line.

Some online companies provide their own landing pages and banners for you to advertise and you just direct your ad campaigns to these sites. This is useful as you don't even need to have a website to promote these products. I will list a few of the ones I consider worth a look.

Now that you have some products you need to promote them to make sales. There are many ways to do this online and in the real world. I will discuss some of the more common methods just to get you started and give you some resources for the rest.
